DAY 7 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

You see, there is a line between the success that is good and the success that isn’t. The Bible talks of a blessing that adds no sorrow to it…

Title: SUCCEEDING OR TRYING TO?

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Job 36:11

Let me sound a little bit controversial, do you know that true success is NOT a product of hard work? You heard that right!
It is God’s desire for you and me to prosper as His children on earth. Do you know why? Because, the Kingdom will spread faster and wider when we do. Don’t you think so too? Imagine how much support you will give for the gospel to be preached if you had some good resources at your command. That’s it.

Well, by default settings, because of the Zoe life in us now, we are wired to succeed in whatever we lay our hands to do. Success runs in our genes. It’s not pride, it’s not arrogance, it’s in the family tree. We are just blessed like that.

But, like every good gift we have received from the Father Who is blessed forever, we have a role to play in activating this ‘success touch’ in life. The key is obedience. This is the product of complete surrender to God and the will to do what He wants/commands us to do, that is, His will.

Some folks want to work things out on their own. They run where it’s happening and it works for a while but then draught comes and they’re knocked down. Some want to mix their thing with God’s thing but finds out they are immiscible. Just like oil and water.

Obedience is heeding what God says and walking in it. In fact, faith works in obedience as it does in love too. Walking in obedience means walking in faith, that total dependence upon what you believe God had said.

You see, there is a line between the success that is good and the success that isn’t. The Bible talks of a blessing that adds no sorrow to it. That’s Good success. It comes with rest of mind. It comes with goodness and mercy. It comes with blessings that can be left behind for the unborn generations.

Now, this Good Success is a product of complete obedience to the Word of God. We, the children of God, are success people by default setting (failure is not in our makeup), yet, to have the success, we MUST obey God well. If you obey God well, success will follow what you do.

Is God asking you to take a step right now and it seems like a dead end? Take that step. Have you forgotten that He is the One who makes a way through seas, wilderness and dry lands? Have you forgotten that He walks on water? Never forget this: in this Kingdom, there is no end, only a bend. What looks like a dead-end is turning to a good bend for you as you walk in faith to obey what you’ve heard. Your business will thrive. Your faith will grow and your life will be a success.

God is asking you to start small, then start small. God is instructing you to apply, then apply. God is asking you to do, go and do. God is asking you to wait, wait and serve while waiting. It’s all a setup for your lifting. Return to the place of obedience. It pays. End the struggle and start walking in obedience.

I see you walking in your high places This season, in Jesus name. Amen
