DAY 14 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Just like Adam, Abraham, your great-grandfather and mother, you also are a generational head…

Title: YOU ARE THE ANCESTOR OF AN UNBORN GENERATION

And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

Heb. 7:9-10

Let’s walk back a bit through Biblical history. When God created everything that has the capacity to reproduce offspring, something significant the scripture stated was this: He created everything with its own seed IN ITSELF. Likewise, the human race began from the created man, Adam. He, Adam, became our original progenitor. Every human characteristic finds its origin traceable to him. Adam could speak, so all who came out of Adam has that ability to speak. Adam could walk on two feet, hence, the ability of all humans to walk on two feet. So everything our progenitor featured, we partake of also.
But this isn’t just limited to the physical alone. The greater part is the inner life. Adam is the ideal example of the connection between a progenitor and his/her progeny both physically and spiritually.

The Bible says when Adam fell, we all fell. Yes. It says when Adam was enslaved, all humanity was too. The entire life of all who came out of him was determined by him. But, why will God ever allow such a thing? Why will innocent offspring come and become victims of things they have no knowledge of? I’ll tell you. By nature, every individual was in Adam from the very first day he was made. Before Cain and Abel were born, they were in the loins of Adam, partaking indirectly in everything he did. The book of Hebrews cites also how Levi, Abraham’s great-grandson, paid tithes even while yet unborn. How was this possible? He did it in Abraham when Abraham gave Melchizedek his tithe. If Abraham had died before birthing Isaac, would Levi his grandson been born? Definitely not. Hence, Levi was in Abraham and partook of both his service and his blessings. When he was born, he was born into it. Do you understand this now?

Many people are born into curses and troubles that were kick-started by someone in their ancestral lineage. You see, the spiritual honors this principle. So demons jump through generations making demands of offspring who were physically absent when those acts were done. You see, they understand that spiritually you were there even if no one in the physical saw you. This is a very serious thing every person must know and take note of. It is not about you. I say it again, life is not about you. Whatever you do or engage in has a direct or indirect impact on your afterbears (your descendants).
Remember when God asked the people of Israel to choose life, He made it clear that their offspring would be participants in their choices. If they chose life, their offspring will experience that. If they choose death, their offspring would have it too. Can you believe that?

My focus today is this: just like Adam, Abraham, your great-grandfather and mother, you also are a generational head. Do you know that? The reason many people live anyhow is because they are too self-conscious. But you shouldn’t be self-conscious more than generation-conscious. The blessings Christ has given to you should produce an inheritance for the next generation. The best thing about it is that through Christ, you and I have been brought under a new seed-line. It is a blessed seed-line. Hallelujah!

Abraham’s faith is still being talked about today. We all sing “Abraham’s blessings are mine…” We all want to be identified with this great progenitor. But, he was concerned about all who will be blessed under him. Abraham gave and Heaven recorded that his offspring did also.

So imagine the glory of the hours you put into prayers being organized for your children. Wow! Don’t just think that only curses cross generations. Labour, power, Grace, open doors also are cross-generational. Think about living holy for the blessing of your offspring. Think about doing good to others for your descendants’ sakes. Think and resolve on being the best ancestor your children’s children would praise God for. Let your children and their descendants be eager to hear of the exploits of their ancestor, you, and want to name their kids after you.

I see you powerful. I see you digging deep in your walk with God and having something to give your children when they’re born. I see you being the best gift of a parent to your coming generation.

Praise God for all the ancestors in this generation!
