If you have any question about who God’s family could be, just look at the born again child of God. As small, unknown, human and insignificant as that person may seem, that’s Jehovah’s family members…

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

1 Peter 2:9-10

Paul, an apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed), by the will of God [that is, by His purpose and choice]. To the saints (God’s people) who are at Ephesus and are faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus:

Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed and worthy of praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ, just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will— to the praise of His glorious grace and favor, which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved [His Son, Jesus Christ]. In Him we have redemption [that is, our deliverance and salvation] through His blood, [which paid the penalty for our sin and resulted in] the forgiveness and complete pardon of our sin, in accordance with the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and understanding [with practical insight] He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, with regard to the fulfillment of the times [that is, the end of history, the climax of the ages]—to bring all things together in Christ, [both] things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have received an inheritance [a destiny—we were claimed by God as His own], having been predestined (chosen, appointed beforehand) according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will

Ephesians 1:1-11 (Amplified Bible)

These two opening texts show a very important direction I want you to take a moment to look upon today. Yes, there are still a lot of other spiritual realities to uncover, heaven and hell to think about, love to learn, humility, discipleship, leadership, holiness, prosperity, and the many questions and answers of being a Christian. But, I’ll like you to pause a moment today to consider something:

The Lord speaks through His word to you and I who are in Christ. He says we are His people. I don’t know what that means or speaks to you. But to me, it means God counts me as His company. God associates Himself with me. This living God, Creator of all things, Authority above all, Jehovah, He counts me as His own, as of His tribe, citizens of His, members of His family line. This is awesome for me. It stirs a special feeling in me that I can’t put words on. Imagine being organized in a place or occasion, and people are sitting according to their origins or titles. Now imagine when they get to you, this you that is the born again in Jesus Christ, and they say, “This is where God’s people sit, so sit here”. Won’t that be amazing?

That’s how God sees any person who receives Jesus Christ into his life. And you know what else? God actually had this plan when His was creating all things in the beginning. If you have any question about who God’s family could be, just look at the born again child of God. As small, unknown, human and insignificant as that person may seem, that’s Jehovah’s family members. He knows and cherishes them. Can you believe this yet?

Jesus’ coming was to come make that God’s plan a reality. Adam sold God’s family and Jesus came and bought us back with His life. Think of all Jesus went through. He wasn’t doing that for “creation-sake” but rather for family. That’s what families do. They fight for each other. They defend and protect each other. And that’s w He came to do.

I am so glad and excited to know that God specifically “claimed” me through Jesus Christ. Have you ever claimed a seat before? Did you see how you dragged for it and protected it. That’s what God demonstrated when Jesus died in the Cross. It was like saying, “I’ll die here if that’s what it will take to have this guy”. He loved us that much. Paul writes to the Ephesian Church that this decision was even in place from the beginning of time. This means that when God was making humanity, He was resolved and ready to fight for and die for this creation. So even when man fell, God made up His mind to start planning the rescue.

I want you to take a moment to think about this. Let it awake thankfulness, desire and love in your heart for God. Leave guilt, shame, fear, sins aside. Just express your gratitude to God today for counting you worthy to be a member of His own family even as weak as you look, you’re God’s strong man.

It’s a hour of praise. Praise God and mock Satan. You’re not Satan’s but God’s .
