DAY 37 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Do you know that it is possible to be alive yet not be living. When a person has done all he knows to do with his life and then one day calls them all “vanity”, has such a person truly lived?

Title: IT IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND LIVING

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life

1 John 5:11-12

Yesterday, we talked about the necessity of Christianity and remaining one. It is a matter of life and death. It is a free gift of God to us. Either we accept it for our good or reject it to our own undoing. It is a choice we must make, for life or to death.

Do you know that it is possible to be alive yet not be living. When a person has done all he knows to do with his life and then one day calls them all “vanity”, has such a person truly lived? When everyday, I go up and down, blown here and there by life’s pursuits, finding no peace nor fulfilment in everything I thought would give me, am I truly living? When each time I think of my future or God’s purpose for my life or eternity, I have an itching somewhere, a fear, some guilt about me not even there yet, even when the world is applauding me, am I truly living? – Eccl. 1:2 and 14

This is as personal as it gets. We cross from death to life when we become one with Jesus through surrender. He says we have to actually choose this life. And the scriptures tell us where it is, in Jesus Christ. This life is what gives a man a better, more fulfilled sense of living. This life gives you that assurance, peace and comfort that no luxury on earth can offer you. – John 1:4, Rom. 5:17, 2Cor. 5:17

And this life is free. If you’re a believer already, protect and dive deeper into the treasures of this life. Submit to what God is beckoning you into. Give yourself to it completely. If you’re yet to receive this life, it’s not too late to accept now. Jesus is Lord and He is giving people a sense of living every day. Join this train today. – John 3:16, Matt. 11:28

Glorify God because you are living life. You have joy in Jesus Christ. You are His and He is yours. You’re attached to Him. You will not fail. You will not lose out. He will keep what has been entrusted to Him. The future is secured and great because it has Jesus as its foundation. We fear not!

God bless you today
