Everything for us is now about God and bringing pleasure to Him. Our fashion, our walk, our friends, our talk, etc. Not about church nor religion but about the One we’re devoted to…

Title: MUST IT BE ABOUT GOD, GOD, AND GOD ALL THE TIME? (A secret question)

Col. 1:16-18

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Colossians 1:16-18

Someone sat down and found Himself asking some questions about himself, his restrictions and his faith. How do I balance between what I believe I am supposed to have and what I’ve been (or I’m being) taught that God requires of me? I want to serve God and live for Him, make Heaven and be received into glory, but I don’t want to do ‘church’; I don’t just see myself fitting ‘inside’ the system. Does this mean I don’t love Christ? Does it mean I am not born again? I don’t mean that I want to backslide or go back into the world, that is very disgusting to even think of. But what I mean is that, is it possible for me to fulfill my purpose outside a ‘church’ or religious setting? Must it be within the confines of the Church system alone that one can find fulfilment in the use of his or her gifts and callings?

The questions are numerous and some quite unheard. Still, it continues to bother people everywhere. I’m not here to tell you yes or no. Or give you one fixed answer of all your questions.

I want to just tell you about this special Someone we call our God. First, let’s understand that God is not a dictator nor a tyrant. Check through the scriptures, He reveals Himself as One who hates bondage of any kind, religious, satanic, and human, He hates all forms of it. He wants man free. That was how He made humanity in the first place. But, freedom has a definition. If it isn’t defined, it will be taken to the extreme. And when this happens, there’s abuse and disorder. But God is a God of order. There is beauty in order.

In Matt. 11:29-30, Jesus tells us of the rest that comes to those who come to Him. In this rest, we are yoked to Him and He is our only concern (He calls it ‘burden’). But not to be afraid, He further says, this yoke is an easy one and the burden is a lighter one. It is not meant to weigh you down, but to lift you up. That’s the powerful thing about this God-kind of burden.

You see, when we come into Christ, we enter into God’s original intent for man. We enter into the fulfilment of what Jesus started, “Be fruitful, multiply,…” – Gen. 1:28. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel…” -Mark 16:15. “Show forth His praises… “ -1Peter 2:9. And so on

If you and I have truly given our lives to Christ and loved Him, we won’t have a question of what someone says or thinks about how we walk with Him. We won’t walk with Him the way we feel because our feelings are unstable most of the time. Rather, we will depend upon the weight of His glory (His Spirit) to stir up in our hearts like a bubbling fountain in the direction God wants us to walk both personally and in the cooperate world. Everything for us is now about God and bringing pleasure to Him. Our fashion, our walk, our friends, our talk, etc. Not about church nor religion but about the One we’re devoted to (our Husband, our Owner/Redeemer, our God, our Savior). – John 7:38-39, John 4:14

But to correct religion, the local Church is a collection of saints walking/working together and growing together. As we fellowship together, we need the gifts of each one to grow. Paul explains this better in 1Cor. 12 and in most of his other letters to the church. But you see, our primary place of assignment is the field of the world. How can we save souls if we tie ourselves to ourselves only. Light shines brighter in the darkness. We are sent as sheep into the midst of wolves. Men and women on a mission. Aliens in a world of the enemy. – Matt. 10:16 downwards.

Be a medical doctor, a businessman, a politician and anything else that drives your passion but BE IT FOR JESUS. Take Jesus there. You’re not going there to force religion down people’s throats but to show them Christ, light, Heaven, through who you are and what you do. You’ll not only be doing what you love, you’ll also be contributing to the Kingdom and the eternity you belong to.

Asking if it must be about God is like asking if living must be about purpose all the time. Why live when there is nothing to live for? Because He is our ultimate joy and peace. He is our greatest satisfaction. There is nothing in that Christ-less life Satan is luring you into. It is all vainglory and vanity.

For us, it is about God.
May you find yourself, your joy and your fulfilment in your Creator. He’s got an intention in all fields, will you be His man there or will there be none to stand in there for the saving of others? God wants you helping the saints grow but He is also deeply concerned about who will be His witnesses in the world. If you truly see and will accept it, you’ll discover that there is God and there should be God in every thing in order for us (believers) to find fulfilment and satisfaction there.

Be that God’s man today.
See Him in everything today. You’ll rejoice. Give Him praise today, don’t complain. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
