DAY 53 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Title: INVEST IN SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST FOREVER

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not

Gal. 6:7-9

I sat under the teaching of a wonderful servant of God where he gave in-depth insights into spirit study. While he taught, I just couldn’t help but imagine : what would happen if believers could actually access the unlimited potentials of their inner man. O boy! We would literally walk as forces to be reckon with. But this is possible.

Look at this. From the moment we became saved, we (our spirit inside us, the real us) was reborn. We started a new life per se. 2Cor. 5:17
And, as babies, we were required to start developing. What did the Bible say would be responsible for that development (growth into our full potentials) of you and my spirit? The Word of God (the sincere milk of the word) – 1Pet. 2:2

Our opening text tells us that our lives will be a product of what we sow into it and where we make that sowing. If we are always investing on our bodies, our minds and all the flesh and neglecting the spirit, we would reap the result of that investment. Paul calls it corruption (decay, death, etc.). But if and when we sow (invest) into our spiritual lives, there will be a resultant effect of our walking in the Zoe reality (everlasting life).

I want you to ponder on this tonight? How much have I been investing into my spiritual life that will last forever as compared to this body, the self, which won’t go beyond life on Earth and which is subject to the systems of this world?
I need you to make a sincere decision that from today, by God’s enablement, you’re going to steadily walk after and put more effort towards your spiritual life development. This is a process and will take time. But in time you’ll see the resultant effect manifesting in and around your life for good.

Be blessed.
