DAY 59 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Now, when we want to define ourselves or our lives according to circumstances, it is difficult to set the bar on beautiful, strong, smart, productive

Title: YOU’RE COMMISSIONED FOR FRUITFULNESS

You didn’t choose me, but I’ve chosen and commissioned you to go into the world to bear fruit. And your fruit will last, because whatever you ask of my Father, for my sake, he will give it to you!

John 15:16 (TPT: The Passion Translation)

Ever looked at the mirror and felt like you were seeing one loser, failure or barren face looking back at you? Have you ever found it difficult to esteem yourself according to what you’ve heard written in the Word?

Now, when we want to define ourselves or our lives according to circumstances, it is difficult to set the bar on beautiful, strong, smart, productive.

Our opening text agrees with Genesis 1:28 where God’s original declaration over His creation, man, is stated, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion”.

When God formed man, His commissioning statement was that (because of what He’s invested in this special creation, man) he should be fruitful, strong, productive.
I like the word, ‘commission‘, according to The Passion Translation. It means you were assigned for that purpose, dedicated, born for it, built for it, wired for it, programmed and organized for it, permitted, licensed to be fruitful in life.

As I looked at this scripture, I just appreciated the Lord. No matter what anyone thinks of me or what I have before felt about myself, today I’m reminded that the Father has commissioned me for one very important task: fruitfulness.

This fruitfulness means the revealing of God’s goodness through me, my words, talk, my character, my faith, etc. This is fruitfulness, that my life offers something that adds light to this world.

Do you know your life has a light to offer to the world? Jesus wasn’t wrong to have died for someone like you. You think of yourself as unimportant and irrelevant, but I tell you YOU’RE COMMISSIONED FOR FRUITFULNESS. You’re a carrier of joy, hope, love, kindness, mercy and the goodness of God.

You are seeing a brand new day because your commission is still valid. This is who you are. You’re alive because that commission still stands. See the value in yourself. See God’s investment in your destiny and then live. Your best days are not behind you. As long as you still got breathe, make a move to add value to life. Live, don’t die, live.

Declare this: I am the blessed. I am equipped. I have all it takes to produce solutions. My past doesn’t define me. I have a nature. This nature is known for providing solutions. Therefore, that’s me, a solution provider and I will not fail. I will not fall. I stand sure for Christ. This is who I am, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Glory!
