DAY 95 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

I mean we can find hopes to embrace positive change with every new day we see.

Title: ESCAPE FROM THE PAST

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert

Isaiah 43:18-19

I say with all humility and gratitude to God that, every day is a new shot at perfection. I do not use this to say we should go on wasting our days all in the name of brand new days of tomorrow. Rather, I mean we can find hopes to embrace positive change with every new day we see. This is important because, so many people have reached the present but they are still very much living in the past. Such people can never maximize their today plus all it has to offer.

What’s in today that makes it unique and better than yesterday or the last few days? Everything that’s good. Everything that is right. The present is all you and I have. We can’t go back into the past, it’s gone and gone forever. Whatever it was that is in the past has only now become an object of thought and memories.

What should people do with their past, forget it all behind. God wants you to let go of your Saul. If you refuse to let go of your Saul, you can’t see your David. He may be around or come around you, but because you’re still stuck in your past and fears, you’re unable to make the best of your David.

How do I let go of my past?
Open you eyes, ears and heart to lay hold on the possibilities of today. Don’t be afraid to trust, love and obey. Laugh, smiles and live today. Stop moaning the lose of your past and start embracing the glories of the now. Make up your mind to engage and be present in the now. Apply for that job, write that exam again, anything that represents these things you’ve given up on because of what happened yesterday.

There is so much for you to have and enjoy now.

Say the Word and command your life. Be present!
