[7]- Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’
The first step to the introduction of you to your real self is to let you know that your very existence is a deliberate act carried out by God as stated in Jeremiah 1:5. As we began on Day 97 of this devotional, let us continue on this path that will guide us towards the full reality of our purpose in life and destiny.
Again, I say to you that there is an intention behind your appearance at this point in history. This intention is called Purpose. It is the reason why something is done, that aim which the doer of an action expects to hit through the action.
So, after understanding that you exist for something bigger (this is a hopeful word to someone who has lost the sense of worth in life), you can now go further to realize that by something big, I mean something greater than mere existence on Earth. It means something that will leave a lasting mark and cause a lasting effect upon Earth’s surface. This what this ‘big‘ means.
And the thing about this big something which makes it very important is that, it is a Divine plan orchestrated by your Maker, God, and was set in motion the day you were born. Yes. So even before you were born, God had something in mind He needed to achieve on Earth, and since He can’t do anything on Earth without a man, He organised for the birth of His tool, His agent (you) for the execution of that intention on the earth.
So, He gave you a body, loaded that body with abilities, graces, strength, wisdom, and everything needed to carry out His original task and bring Him satisfaction. It is quite sad that many people live years and die as disappointments who entered earth, walked up and down and left without doing/being what they were brought here for, thereby grieving their Maker. Does that make any sense? Allow it to sink in a moment.
Your parents are the vehicles that He would use to usher you into the scene of this world. Whatever it is you do while you’re on Earth is/was meant to correspond with the intention you’re meant to attend to. Now, you see why many people are said to be wasting their lives? It’s not that they’re doing something wrong, it’s just that they are allowing other stuff drive them and take their minds off the sole aim of their existence.
Has everyone been sent to do the same thing? No. Does everyone do the diverse tasks the same way? Not really. You’re going to know what you are wired and programmed to do on Earth by yourself and you’re going to have to do it yourself according to the pattern revealed to you.
But, never forget this, the discovery of your purpose brings you to the realization that you’re God’s inside-man. You’re the one who runs the show on His behalf inside the earth. Again, I say, you’re God’s man. You’re not your own and your ‘big thing’ is not for yourself but for His own satisfaction.
So, where do you go to in order to find out what you’re cut out for? God. Who do you turn to for this? God, not your inside, nor men nor people, but your Maker. Only your Maker can tell your make-up because He alone knows you.
The next thing you should be asking God for right now, having known this truth today is, Father, show me the ultimate reason for my living so that I can begin to live a more fulfilling, joyful and result-oriented life, thereby bringing glory and satisfaction to you, in Jesus name, amen.
