Title: CHEER UP! I HAVE OVERCOME THEM ALREADY – JESUS
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the worldJohn 16:33
When Isa. 60:2 prophesied of a time when darkness shall cover the earth and thick darkness spreading everywhere, it wasn’t referring to a literal darkness in itself. Rather, it meant everything and anything that darkness represents. Things like emptiness and wasting away (as we saw also in Genesis 1:2), affliction of sicknesses and all manner of diseases, skyrocketing in crime rate, murders, kidnappings, legalization of errors and abominations, persecution, lack and financial meltdown. Everything that darkness represents is negative. And this, as you will know by now, is that age where this thick darkness is spreading all over the nations of the earth in the spiritual atmosphere.
But, the upside to this is that, in that same prophecy, darkness did not have the total and final triumph. Yes! Hallelujah! In the midst of the unknown and all that the darkness represents, there arises a powerful force to reckon with, light.
The light exists as the only force that can beat darkness any day, anywhere, any time. And in the midst of darkness light finds its true potency. The Prophecy says that upon a select number of souls, there will arise a great prevailing power of light that will keep countering the darkness. This will make them, the lights (those carrying the light) to become the destination of every other person who the darkness had before held bound in its prison, whatever that may represent for them.
What does light represent? It represents all that is good, life, beautiful and colourful, free, abundant, safe and powerful. So think of anything good, it is a representation of light. The unique feature of the light is that it likes to emerge from/in darkness even though it is not a creation of darkness. This is quite mysterious but it’s true. So when you feel darkness overwhelming you, remember your situation is a good opportunity for light to manifest.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the World and He is the Prevailing Light. Whomever He lights up is lit for good. Thus, He makes more and more lights by touching lives in the dark (John 1:4-5, 9; John 8:12, 9:5; Matt. 5:14-16). So whoever comes in contact with Jesus should expect to be touched by Light indeed.
Are you facing a darkness in your life right now which to a great extent seems its weight is becoming too heavy on your shoulders and it seems it’s going to crush you? It is difficult to hold on when manifestations around you makes you feel you’re wasting your time believing.
But, according to Jesus, the darkness and all it represents will come (troubles). But, for anyone IN him, there’ll be peace. What is the key, therefore, for finding peace in the midst of trouble? Jesus is the Key. If Jesus is Light. And if light truly ALWAYS prevails over darkness, then with Jesus rising up in any dark situation, we can be sure to see the situation fade away before our eyes.
And He tells us what to do when the darkness is spreading and trying to crush us, CHEER UP! Rejoice! People who have hope, life, freedom, peace and the winning advantage aren’t sad. No, they celebrate instead. Jesus says, you too celebrate. Why? Because Jesus, the Light, has beaten the darkness and will continue to beat the darkness forever. So, if you’re in need of an intervention now, why not cast away that garment of grief, sorrow and moodiness, and just come alive with good cheer.
Shout to the world, your situation and yourself that YOU’RE THE CHILD OF THE LIGHT. DARKNESS IS EVERYWHERE BUT YOU’RE RISING OUT OF IT BY THE FORCE OF LIGHT IN JESUS NAME.
Maintain this attitude with faith in Jesus Christ, our Light, and you’ll see the overcoming wonder He’ll make out of you. This faith is key to your victory over the darkness of this world. (1John 5:4). Now is not the time to lose your joy but instead to cheer up. Praise. Celebrate. Go out and bless others. What about your trouble? In Christ, they are taken away and dealt with, so you can say, I’ve got no worries!
Glory to God.
