DAY 111 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

But, do you know that when you became a member of God’s family, you joined the category of people who carry Him everywhere they go. By virtue of His life and Spirit within you, Emmanuel has become your reality. You’re not alone as you think you are…

Title: EMMANUEL – GOD WITH US

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us

Matthew 1:23

Matthew 28:20
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

I remember growing up as a child, I had this particular fear of being alone or being in the dark. I wasn’t a crybaby or anything. I could do a lot of things on my own except go into or stay in a dark room by myself. There was always this feeling of being whisked away by some claw or ghost in the closet. Sometimes, even using the bathroom at night was a problem. I’d beg for someone to accompany me out the door. But, every time I had someone older follow me out, I felt confident and secure. The consciousness that I was being watched over gave me relief and a sense of security to spend time in the dark alone.

Life can be quite scary some times. Maybe you’re there reading this, not sure of what would become of your life and your chances of ever getting the results you desire. Maybe fear has so gotten the best of you that, although you’re not admitting it, you’re not sure you can have, be or do what you’re supposed. This has a way of making you settle for less and less. It has a way of making you feel hurt beyond normal. It has a way of making you feel powerless despite the weight of your equipping.

But, do you know that when you became a member of God’s family, you joined the category of people who carry Him everywhere they go. By virtue of His life and Spirit within you, Emmanuel has become your reality. You’re not alone as you think you are. Now I don’t just use this to refer to the fact of sin, as in, your sins are not in secret as you think because God sees everything. But I also mean that, in that place and moment where you feel you’re going to be sucked into an abyss of failure, loss, disgrace, error and setback, you have with you Someone who can change it, and His name is Jesus.

It is this Emmanuel reality that made a young man go to a university to demand for admission from the registrar himself in the name of his Father. And when he was asked who his Father was, he replied, God Almighty. He was given that admission instantly. This might not be your own, but whichever conviction you catch from the understanding of this God-with-us reality, that will be the source of great happenings in your life.

As you go to write that exams, carry the Emmanuel consciousness along. As you go to school, work, evangelism, or whatever place you go to, carry the God-with-us mentality. And if God be for you, who can be against you? (Rom. 8:31). Because you’re of God (belonging to Him), He resides in you, therefore, by reason of this, you’re an overcomer (1 John 4:4). Hallelujah!

Father, I thank you because I’m not alone. I’m born of God and therefore I carry Him in me and with me. Because of the Emmanuel reality, I am unstoppable, untouchable and unbeatable. I prosper because I go in the light of God’s presence and power within me, in Jesus name, amen
