Title: DEALING WITH OTHERS: STEPS TOWARDS PERFECTION – 3
Someone just thinks, “Why do I have to be kind to others? What’s it all for? Why should the Divine virtue of love flow to an undeserving folk who hardly ever even appreciates it?” Allow me to show you today that it pleases God when you act like Him in showing others mercy and love.
Two things God is pleased with from us consistently: first, faith towards Him and love towards others – Col. 1:4. Faith in the Lord works more through our love for Him. And this love for God fuels our faith in Him, spreads to others, helping us love them and treat them the way He wants, with mercy.
But, someone says, what if I can’t do it? Well, if God asks you to do or be something, it’s because He has put in you the capacity to do or be that thing. Gal. 5:22-23 makes us know that in our spirits, there lies certain fruits/characters that we should identify with. It mentions nine of them, the first of which is love. And if you’ll accept, I tell you that love will produce the other fruits in a person’s life.
What do I pursue then?
Pursue peace. Love it. Crave for peace with everyone as much as you can. Not depending on them but on the fact that peaceful, kind and loving is who you are and what your Father delights in. Channel all your energy on pleasing God and you’ll never have the time for malice, grudge, vengeance, etc. By the Spirit of God in you and through the knowledge of God, you’ll be trained to know the mind of God and how to do what pleases Him.
If you and I will do this, please God and seek to do it more and more, we need not fear what anyone can do to us because we are walking in truth and love which never fails. Here is what God will do for us, “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” – Prov. 16:7
Some folks don’t need to be removed from you. They just need to be touched by God to favor you. So how do you win this? Love them. Pray for them well. Forgive them again and again. Treat them like Jesus would. Be kind to them always. And then see what God will do.
By doing this, you’ll prove yourself to be your Father’s child and a good Kingdom ambassador shining as a great light on the earth.
God bless you
