Title: GOD’S ORDER FOR MAKING MEN
He went up the mountain and called to him those whom he wanted, and they came to him. And he appointed twelve, whom he also named apostles, to be with him and to be sent out to proclaim the message, and to have authority to cast out demons
Mark 3:13-15 (NRSV)
Have you ever felt like what you hear every week in the Word and from the pulpits are a bit farfetched, and that it seems it’s not working for you? Many times, we hear from God’s Word and from His very own mouth that we have been blessed and later on, it starts to feel like what God has said about our destinies is still a long way coming and may never get to us.
The enemy, Satan, capitalizes on the instant manifestations we see in the world and make us feel like God isn’t fair or perfect in His dealings with us, blessing us and then leaving us in the darkness of satanic attacks, harassments and oppositions. We are like, yes, we have been blessed, so now what next? What are we going to do with the real life situations and challenges that are going to come our way?
The devil now adds to this fear by telling many of us that it is because we have fallen short of God’s standard or have sinned against Him, and therefore aren’t qualified to be helped or attended to. This is a big l
ie! Although, it is true that we became partakers and heirs of God’s divine promises and Kingdom respectively when we became born-again, yet it did not mean that our status or experiential transformation would happen instantly. It did mean, though, that God had delivered us from the power of the enemy but not from his confrontations. In fact, the salvation and inheritance put a target on our backs and we became walking targets ourselves. However, that God doesn’t do anything doesn’t mean He isn’t doing anything. It doesn’t mean that He is mad at us or that He is disappointed in us. No, that’s not it. What you feel is part of the attack of the wicked one to keep you from the next chapter already set by God for you. Don’t let him.
If we don’t go through this process, we may be saved and be carriers of divinity on the inside, yet we might never get better than we have always been. God has a process for making men and He has revealed it in His word to us. Just like Jacob, being saved (brought into the covenant tree) isn’t the end, we are about to be shown what God does to take us through the process of becoming a blessing, a bright shining light, a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden to which the nations would run for light and life. – Matt. 5:13-16
The process: You have to make up your mind today to heed God’s call and His instructions. In Christ, you have been blessed with the blessings of Abraham (Gal. 3:13-14). And in God’s presence, you are sure to find all the help you need (Ps. 91) as you make it your abode (Thank God that right now, by the Holy Spirit in every child of God, He now lives in us; so we can now literally live in God’s presence daily). God has laid down His process for making men. He calls them then makes them, how, through their adherence to His instructions (Ps. 119:11)
Follow it on up. You shall shine!
