Every attack you ever faced in life wasn’t just directed at you but on what you carried. Many times you may have heard people complain and wonder why so many adversities surround them and why there is so much attack on their faith, integrity and convictions. Many of us, sometimes, think that because we have become born again, we have been delivered from such harassments and satanic ‘disturbances’. And when we see the wars, we feel maybe we weren’t truly saved, we don’t truly have the blessings or power that God says we have, or we have done something wrong altogether.
But, you see, these might not be the case. In fact, you became a walking target the moment you received Jesus Christ and became an heir to Kingdom inheritance. The forces of the kingdom from which you have just escaped (redeemed by Jesus’ blood) will do everything within its power to get you or end you. That’s the job of the thief, to steal, kill and to destroy. He doesn’t do otherwise. However, our Lord Jesus gives life in full to everyone who comes to Him for salvation and refuge (John 10:10).
So, the attack and temptations all around you is an indication that you carry something inside of you that the enemy wants to take. Also, because of the effect a man’s destiny may have on generations yet unborn, the kingdom of darkness can launch onslaughts on him – temptations, rejections, disappointments, weaknesses, sicknesses, etc. – even before he gets there, hoping to displace him or her before they have the chance to birth those destinies into reality. Do you deserve them? No, you don’t. But, will there always be a threat on you and your yet unrevealed potentials? Yes, there’ll be, not until you birth those potentials forth.
The security of our destiny and that of those tied to us is in our direct security, and thank God that we are in Christ. For the name of the Lord, the Bible says, is a strong tower, ‘the righteous’ – you and I- run into it and are safe (Prov. 18:10). In Jesus, we have all the safety we need. So, no matter the battle on your future which you’re faced with right now, recognize that Jesus, the Conqueror, is on your side, and you are more than a conqueror because Jesus has given you the victory already (Luke 10:19, Romans 8:37).
Being a child of God means you have to be on your guard always, because your arch-enemy, satan, is going to plant things around you, temptations, pressures, diversions, distractions, disappointments, fears, hurts and pains, etc., to try to displace you. Don’t give in, don’t give up. Believe in the holy and righteous status you have in Christ Jesus now. Believe in the potentials on your inside. Believe in the effect your life and existence will have on others as a result of what God has given you in Christ Jesus. Don’t lose heart, don’t lose faith. Don’t accept the counterfeit of the enemy (1 Peter 5:8-9). Stand in this faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ, heed the voice of the Holy Spirit inside of you, and resist the enemy in the name of Jesus.
Receive the strength to keep going today, in Jesus name, amen. You are an overcomer, go live in this victory!
