His LIGHT broke my CHAINS (My Testimony of God’s Deliverance) – Teddy Eragbai

People always find a way to hide under a lie, and the devil is the father of lies – John 8:44
However, It does not have to be so. Join us on this journey as Guest Blogger Teddy shares his testimony of deliverance from the bondage of addiction to freedom in Christ Jesus…

Growing up as a young believer, I saw people enter into different forms of ungodliness both publicly and privately, and I would say in my mind, “These guys are not strong in God, I can’t be involved in such things… bla bla bla bla”. Growing older I realized that talk is cheap, will is weak and strength is from God alone.

FROM ADDICTION TO THE ADDICT

Here is a word from Addiction (which is referred to here simply as “THE HUNGER”) to that person who finds himself an addict to whatever.

FROM BENEATH THE FLESH, IT SPEAKS

This is the apex of it all
The level from which you hate to fall
Hate me or detest me
Please try not to eject me
Cos I really wanna remain
For dominance I crave
With you I’ll cleave
As the need for the air you breath

When I start you kno what I’ve got
And usually you desire a restart
Hate me for all I care
I know I got my fans out there
As long as you can’t beat me
As long as you can’t bring me under
I’ll be the poker you got
That undying hunger for more

I’m the urge you feeling burning within
Fuelled by that connection you think you feel
Like that lightning bolt
I like to strike your hilltop
And coming down the rill, stop.
Unquenchable until satisfied I do seem to be
But its just for a while Cos I do like to fly
So that you alone can pay the bills.

Deep down I know you love good
But bad seems better ya
Don’t pray nor burn the hay
That fits in later ok
O men, I feel my way!
This really scares me though
God’s care brings me chills
Only His love breaks my spell.

I am hunger and I am me
I leave or cleave
What do you desire
I can do that for real.
Bend me if you will
It just scares me to know you really can
I just hope I can make you quit
And let go of Faith on the cross
