DAY 138 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

You may have the advantage of weapons but you may still lose the fight if you don’t know how to engage them…

Title: WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE – Rightly engaging our weapons (2)

However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

Matthew 17:21

DAY 88 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

What if I told you that one of the reasons you struggle in the place of prayers, hearing God, focusing and having answered prayers was your inability to let go of offences done against you?

Title: FORGIVENESS, MUCH

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven

DAY 60 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Furthermore, I have learnt that as a believer, we all (children of God) weren’t saved to be put under again by the devil or by unfavorable circumstances of life

Title: DON’T LET SATAN TAKE IT FROM YOU ANYMORE (1)

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

Galatians 5:1

DAY 36 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Christianity is a matter of life and death. There is no middle ground…

Title: IT IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Deuteronomy 30:19

DAY 17 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

Peace of mind is very powerful. But, what do you do when this peace of mind seems very far and almost impossible, like you’ve never felt it before?

Title: PEACE THAT COMES FROM PUTTING MY HEART/TRUST ON GOD

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee

Isa. 26:3

DAY 15 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

So, now, you’ve seen it. It’s in you. You don’t swing by emotional moods but by the Spirit of joy in you. You have the God-swing. And this swing is the joy swing…

Title: MOOD-SWINGING OR GOD-SWINGING

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Psalms 42:11

LET’S PLAY WAR (an excerpt) by James George

And so it begins as I run pen over paper
Our lives are an unending war
Flames lit as of a burning taper
Burning today. Burning every today
This wax never melts and nothing drops to the floor…

FROM THE ALTAR TO THE SLAUGHTER TABLE – By Stephanie

image

An altar means an area or place where you commune with
God. It is a place of dedication, commitment and correction.

When we were born, most of us were dedicated to God (at
the altar). Our parents wanted so much that we follow the
godly path. They taught us the way of the Lord, took us to
church, exercise morning devotions,etc.

But now, many of us have left the altar. The things of the world
have taken us away from the altar. Corrupt Music, fashion, social
media, peer pressure, etc have blinded our eyes and taken us
away from the altar.

The slaughter table is the devil’s kingdom where you find
all manner of destructive things which comes in very attractive
packages, but do not be deceived because the devil is after
your soul, 1 Pet. 5:8

“Be sober,be vigilant;because the devil

walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

Some of us left the altar without knowing while others
walked into the trap with their eyes wide opened. Proverbs 14:12

“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is

the way of death”.

Know that whatever the devil has to offer to you comes
with a deadly price. Once the devil gives you a thing, he
would collect more than what he gave you.
But God’s Word
in Prov 10:22 says

The blessing of the Lord makes one rich
and He adds no sorrow with it”

Hallelujah!

At the slaughter table, there is pain, grief, loss of communion
with God, guilt, damnation, etc

Now, the benefits of the altar are:
Favour: The Lord will cause His face to shine on you. He
would bless you.

Peace: He would calm the storms. He would give you peace
like a river. Isa 66:12

Strength: He would envelope you with strength for daily
living. Isa 40:31

Forgiveness and substitution: God is merciful. At the
altar, you substitute your problems for peace, your filthy
garment for a new one.

Now you know about the altar and the slaughter table, but
it still behoves on you to make your own choice…
Deuteronomy 30:19

says

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and
cursing:therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live:”

Come back to the altar. The Lord is ready to receive you.
You have wandered too long in darkness and you have even
lost your way;but come to Jesus, He knows the way. Ask for
His forgiveness today and return home.
Don’t forget that the altar is where you belong. The altar

is your HOME.

FROM ADDICTION TO THE ADDICT

Here is a word from Addiction (which is referred to here simply as “THE HUNGER”) to that person who finds himself an addict to whatever.

image

FROM BENEATH THE FLESH, IT SPEAKS

This is the apex of it all
The level from which you hate to fall
Hate me or detest me
Please try not to eject me
Cos I really wanna remain
For dominance I crave
With you I’ll cleave
As the need for the air you breath

When I start you kno what I’ve got
And usually you desire a restart
Hate me for all I care
I know I got my fans out there
As long as you can’t beat me
As long as you can’t bring me under
I’ll be the poker you got
That undying hunger for more

I’m the urge you feeling burning within
Fuelled by that connection you think you feel
Like that lightning bolt
I like to strike your hilltop
And coming down the rill, stop.
Unquenchable until satisfied I do seem to be
But its just for a while Cos I do like to fly
So that you alone can pay the bills.

Deep down I know you love good
But bad seems better ya
Don’t pray nor burn the hay
That fits in later ok
O men, I feel my way!
This really scares me though
God’s care brings me chills
Only His love breaks my spell.

I am hunger and I am me
I leave or cleave
What do you desire
I can do that for real.
Bend me if you will
It just scares me to know you really can
I just hope I can make you quit
And let go of Faith on the cross

CASTING MY CARE

image

Lord, I continually set before you,
My requests and all my needs
With thanksgiving I come unto you,
My concerns unburdened to thee

I wait for your intervention, Lord,
In quietness of soul and mind
And worship at your footstool,
Leaving my cares behind

And Lord, I express my thanks for you,
For all you are to me,
I thank you, Lord, that I matter to you,
Though at times, I cannot see

Because of the circumstances in life,
The things that I go through,
I find my eyes are on the storm,
When they should be looking to you

So help me, Lord, each precious day,
No matter what life brings me,
To carry on with hope and faith
And to rest in you with peace.
