DAY 118 OF 365: WALKING THROUGH THE WORD DEVOTIONAL

here is what God says you can boast about: that you know Him, His heart, His values.

Title: BOASTING IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord

Jeremiah 9:24

The earth continues to unveil diverse knowledge daily. Here and there, up and down, men run to and fro, or in search of one knowledge to another. The constantly changing face of the world is a representation of the increase in knowledge. Knowledge has created a bar for successful and influential living to match up.

But, as profitable as knowledge is, not all knowledge is profitable. Some knowledge are detrimental. Some knowledge are evil. Some knowledge are unnecessary. Some knowledge are limiting. Some knowledge are positive while some are negative. Some knowledge, also, are as good as ignorance because they are fruitless, unutilized at all.

The height of knowledge is not the guarantee of our success in life and destiny. Don’t get me wrong, a lot is achievable through knowledge. A lot of results have been produced in different fields because of the power of knowledge. Still, all natural knowledge is limited and aren’t worth boasting in because they are as limited as the person possessing them. That is, your life is as limited as the level of knowledge you carry.

However, the scriptures tell of a knowledge that we can boast about. This is no ordinary knowledge. It is the knowledge that gives life and freedom, the knowledge of God. I don’t mean knowing ABOUT God. A lot of people know about God. They know about His works but little of Him. Hence, their lives are as simple as those of men and women who know nothing.

I’m referring to the knowledge that gives you access to God’s best. Knowledge that makes you more hungry. Knowledge that helps you please God with your life better. The Bible says that this is the kind of knowing worth boasting about.

Jesus then adds in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” This knowing organizes you for freedom in life and destiny. There may be a wisdom or knowledge that limits people, stirs fear in them and kills them. That kind of knowledge isn’t worth boasting about. But here is what God says you can boast about, that you know Him, His heart, His values.

Why is it worth boasting about? Because this knowledge gives you an hedge. This knowledge is profitable and can save you, it beats your every challenge and takes away every fear.- Col. 1:9-12

Today, you want to say, Father fill me with the knowledge of you that is profitable for me and is worth boasting about. I ask for the knowledge that produces result in every area of life, in Jesus name, amen.
