Title: THE PRINCIPLE OF EXTRA-LIFE (2)
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,Jude 1:20
Significantly, this scripture says “building” from the Greek word “Oikodomew” which means to build by putting one block on another. We are told to build ourselves upon our faith, not to build our faith. It is the word that builds our faith. Praying in tongues strengthens and ‘builds’ us upon our faith. Every time you practice praying in tongues, you’re equipping yourself. This is you recharging yourself. It is like storing energy for use later. Does this sound like gaining “extra life”? I think it does.
There is going to be days when some things in your life will be shaken and you may even feel overwhelmed by certain forces. What will differentiate you, the praying believer, from the regular prayer-less believer and determine whether you survive or quit on God is what you have in your reserve.
Every hour you’ve spent with the Holy Ghost, every time you’ve spent studying and memorizing the Word of God to heart, every time you have fasted in the past or carried out any form of spiritual growth exercise, just know you were connecting with the Holy Ghost to build up a reserve for the day of confrontations.
Many believers have lost, not because they lacked power or God abandoned them in the day of adversity, but because, they haven’t built up their inner man to appropriate the power they have in the Person of the Holy Ghost within them.
Dear child of God, I encourage you to chase after God. I encourage you to value spiritual exercising. It is not a waste of time. It is not religious ritual. It is your life you’re building. It will keep you in the day of adversity.
You’re not a failure. You’re made to win and be free. Start exercising yourself in the realization and experience of this reality in your life.
God bless you
