Not believing the Holy Ghost is not believing in Jesus nor the Father. Not believing in tongues is like erasing certain elements of your advantage being given to you in the Salvation package.

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries

1Cor. 14:2

When Jesus was about to leave earth, thereby, ending His physical earthly ministry, He promised those who would carry on after Him a Helper, Comforter, Teacher, Guide. He promised them Support that they would need not just to stay in touch with Him but also to represent Him here and live like He never left at all. Jesus Christ promised the Holy Spirit. (John 14:17, 15:26, 16:13-15).

And in the Book of Acts 2, that promise was fulfilled, the Holy Spirit of God was sent. From that day, He has been here indwelling everyone who receives Him into their lives in Christ.
I’m not going into a full lecture about the Person of the Holy Spirit, this great Gift of God to us, that’s a full volume if we should start. Rather, let me show you the value of that evidence which always accompanies His arrival, tongues. (Acts 2:4, 19:1-6, 10:44-46).

A lot of Christians, trying to be religious, do not believe in praying in tongues or have a twisted understanding of it. This shouldn’t be. Jesus promised it like we saw earlier and reinstated it while giving the Great Commission in Mark 16:17-18. And since He, the Holy Spirit, came down, He hasn’t and isn’t going anywhere until Jesus returns. Not believing the Holy Ghost is not believing in Jesus nor the Father. Not believing in tongues is like erasing certain elements of your advantage being given to you in the Salvation package. For clarity, check the scriptures I’ve given above and study the Book of Acts. The Holy Ghost is evident and is that important.

What happens when saints pray in tongues? Many things happen. Let me show you one. When you pray in tongues, the Holy Ghost can speak to and communicate with you easily. (Acts 13:2, Rom. 8:16). This may not sound much but it is. Many times, believers just want to hear the Lord speak to them but their flesh, the mind and distractions wouldn’t let them. But, He indwells you already. You just need to learn to “log in” or connect with Him. Praying in tongues helps you do that.

Imagine knowing what to do concerning, let’s say, a business or other very crucial matters of your life. Just imagine you being given an answer to a pressing question, just like that. Imagine being given the area of concentration as you prepare for an exam, interview or presentation, whatsoever. The Holy Ghost is the One you need and He does this when you pray more in tongues.

How do you pray in tongues more effectively?
Faith. You believe that you’re communicating with God (Heb. 11:6) and only He understands you (1Cor. 14:2) not even you yourself understands you. Don’t try to understand it. Don’t try to reason it. Faith just takes it as true and runs with it. As you do this, you are open in your spirit man and open to the Holy Spirit.

There! Words will come. You’ll hear that gentle, still small Voice. You’ll get light that will clear doubts. You’ll receive boldness and establish yourself in Jesus’ authority. No devil can hinder that kind of prayer because they don’t even understand it. To men and others, you’re speaking gibberish. But not to God. Hallelujah! It’s like music to His ears. He understands it. You know why, it’s not your head that’s praying but your spirit. And who’s helping your spirit to do this? Of course, you got that right, the Holy Ghost on your inside as a child of God! And do you know what He helps you pray for? God’s perfect will exactly the way it is from God’s heart. Things that you wouldn’t have been able to put into words well.(Rom. 8:26-27)

Today you’ve seen two very important values of praying in other tongues: first, the Holy Spirit can speak to or communicate with you. Secondly, you pray the heart of God.

You don’t have to start big. Start small. A few minutes daily. Keep at it consistently. Build the habit. Then later take it into hours. I assure you, it is key to sustaining fire in these wicked days no matter where your life is concerned.

Beloved, build the habit of praying in other tongues. It is your advantage.
Do it today!
