Title: DO YOU BEAR HIS NAME?
And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.
Numbers 6:27
This is one scripture that has blessed me for years now, especially the three preceding verses (Numbers 6:24-27). Actually, this scripture is worthy of note in that it declares something that every believer, Old Testament or New Testament alike, accesses in God: the blessing that comes from bearing His name.
As we live our daily lives as Christians, the word of God continues to teach us that every person who doesn’t have Jesus Christ in them hasn’t accepted the love of God (because Jesus is the love of God given to mankind -John 3:16). And anyone who doesn’t have the Son of God, Jesus, doesn’t have Eternal life (the Divine life/nature of God) in them; they have no hope of the age to come- 1John 5:11-12. This is good news for us who have received Jesus. It is also a task to us to reach out to the lost souls in the world who need to receive what we have by faith as well.
Another thing the scriptures teach us about those who have received Christ is that, now they bear His mark (Gal. 6:17, Eph. 1:13) and not only so now we are named by the name of the Lord (2Tim. 2:19) as so it is required of us to represent that name well, by turning from every form of sinfulness and wickedness.

So, everyone who is born again bears a distinguishing mark in their spirits and carry an identity called the CHRISTIAN identity. Remember the disciples where called Christians in Antioch by the unbelievers because they saw Christ in them. They received “Christ’s name” because they had Christ’s mark inside of them. Do you get this? I want to present God’s word to us as simple as possible
Now, our opening text tells us one of the things that happens when the name of the Lord is upon a man. God says He will bless that man. So a man automatically becomes a candidate of God’s blessings because he carries God’s name on him. Let me ask you for a second, what name is on you right now, the Lord’s name or are you nameless?
The days we are in right now, this thing will be the distinguishing mark. Those who bear the name of the Lord are those who will be raptured. Those who bear the name of the Lord are those who receives God’s enabling power to walk free from the prevailing power of darkness over men on the earth today. Only those who bear this name are worthy to be called His children (John 1:12). Any nameless person, even if they try to identify with the Body without being born again, will not be recognized for anything in this Kingdom that we belong.
But if you’re saved in Jesus Christ, then you bear His name upon you. So rejoice. Things aren’t the way you planned, rejoice! It’s turning around for your good and for your testimony (Rom. 8:28). You are a candidate of God’s blessings. Stop carrying yourself or calling yourself the cursed. You’re not. If God’s name is upon you, then you’re blessed. And God’s blessings nullifies curses. Can you believe that?

God is not a liar and if He says by His name a man has His blessings, then you who have that name shouldn’t be afraid any day in your life again. Do your business with that understanding. Go to school with faith in it. Go to work with it before you. Everything you do, accept and judge God right and let every other things be a lie. You are blessed because you are bearing the mark of Christ. You will succeed because of that and you will live because of that; God is true and His word is forever. Glory!
